Elementary First Aid

Elementary First Aid

This course is a combination of theory and practical training for basic first aid and life-saving skills. This course comprises the knowledge required in STCW 95 Table A-VI/1-3 and provides an introduction to the principles of first aid. It shows how to respond to the most common medical emergencies.

This online program includes all required course theory through presentations, reference material, videos, and quizzes in the subject areas of Elementary First Aid/CPR.

Duration
This online course is based on an 8 hour in-person course.

USCG
Any applicant who has successfully completed your First Aid & CPR (NOREMI-961) course will satisfy:

  • The First Aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1), PROVIDED that this training was completed within one year of the date of application; AND
  • The Elementary First Aid standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.302(a)(3) and 12.602(a)(3); STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table AVI/ 1-3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14(Ch-1) Tasks 4.1.A, 4.1.B, 4.1.C, 4.1.D, 4.1.E, 4.2.A, 4.3.A, 4.3.B, 4.4.A, 4.4.B, 4.4.C, 4.4.D, 4.4.E, 4.4.F, 4.4.G, 4.4.H, 4.4.I, 4.5.A, 4.6.A, 4.6.B, 4.7.A, 4.7.B, 4.7.C, 4.8.A, 4.8.B, 4.8.C, 4.8.D, and 4.9.A.

Applicants who have successfully completed your course need not present completed Task Control Sheets for these assessments in application for STCW certification.

Assessments

Written Examination
This course consists of one written exam – First Aid/CPR. The exam contains 25 questions and requires a 70% passing score. The written exam can be taken online through HALO° Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $25.00.

  1. To share a file, navigate to the image/folder you wish to share.

        2. Click on your desired file, then below the image search bar select the  Share option.
